Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about diving, training and services.

General

We pride ourselves on creating the best experience for you when you dive with us in Cyprus. We offer the personal touch, tailoring your diving to you, your qualifications and experience. Group sizes are small, so you get an intimate experience, while our instructors have a lot of knowledge and experience that they are happy to share with you.

Investment is continually made back into the diving centre so we keep our facilities up to date. All equipment is serviced annually and our in-line air testing means every tank is filled with the cleanest air for you to breathe.

There are no random time limits attached to our dives. We aim for at least one hour (depending on the dive, air and decompression limits) and often, they can be longer than this. Diving isn't just a job to us. It is a passion and a lifestyle and this shows clearly on every dive.

No experience is required. Our introduction dives are designed for complete beginners and include a full briefing, equipment fitting and close instructor supervision.

All divers must complete a medical questionnaire. You can find a copy of this form here.

Some conditions may require clearance from a diving physician before participation.

Please read the medical form carefully and if you have any questions, contact us directly.

Cyprus has around 300 days of sunshine a year. The Summer season stretches from April until November, where the sea conditions are the most stable and the temperatures peak around 30 degrees C in July and August.

Even in the winter months, the water temperature doesn't drop below 17 degrees C but the conditions can be variable, meaning there can be days where scuba diving can not take place. However, there are usually less people around through the winter months and crystal clear visibility at the dive sites.

We do not offer accommodation at Scuba Tech but we can help you to arrange your stay at the Mandalena Hotel, which is directly across the road from the dive centre, offering self catering apartments at very reasonable prices.

Yes. We offer both recreational and technical guided dives on the Zenobia, subject to certification, experience and conditions.

Your dive guide is available to give you advice and assistance with any part of the dive, if needed. They will give you a thorough briefing of the dive site(s) you visit and are in the water to show you the points of interest and fishlife.

Dives can be booked with equipment rental or without, if you have your own.

Scuba Tech offers a free pick up service from your accommodation from anywhere in Protaras/Paralimni. Some areas of Ayia Napa are also included.

If you would like photos and videos of your dives while you are in Cyprus, your dive guide will be happy to take a camera with them, so you can enjoy plenty of images of you and your diving. The price for the photos is €15 per day

If you prefer, it is possible to rent a GoPro Camera so you can be in charge of the photos and videos.

Technical & Rebreather Diving

No. Our rebreather try dives are designed as an introduction and do not require prior CCR certification.

We provide air, nitrox and trimix fills in-house. For CCR divers, we offer oxygen fills up to 200 bar using a booster pump. Nitrox is offered free of charge on all dives deeper than 18m, for those divers certified to use it.

Equipment & Services

Yes. Our in-house technician, Peter is here to service regulators from Apeks, Aqualung, Cressi, Poseidon and more using manufacturer-approved procedures.

Every cylinder is filled using an in-line air testing system that continuously monitors breathing gas quality during the fill process. Unlike many dive centres, our air and breathing mixes are tested continuously, not just periodically, so you know you are breathing the cleanest air.
