WRECK DIVING CYPRUSUnderwater Pictures of DivingBelow you will find a collection of scuba diving photographs of the Wrecks that you can Dive around the coast of Cyprus. In Larnaca, Protaras and surrounding areas, the wreck diving in Cyprus is getting better each year with the Cyprus government sinking wrecks to create artificial reefs. The hope is to boost tourism and create protective areas for fish life to improve stocks and give the native species a chance to grow to maturity and beyond. We have the Alexandria and HMS Cricket wrecks in Larnaca and Liberty and Nemesis III in Protaras, which were sank in 2009 and 2013 respectively. In 2014, the Costandis and Lady Thetis sank in Limassol and the Kyrenia wreck in Agia Napa. 2016 saw the sinking of an artificial reef system in Protaras, close to the Nemesis and Liberty wrecks that aims to really help build fish life and protection zones for Divers to enjoy. Over the past couple diving seasons, we have seen the life on this diving route increase and you can now find Moray Eels, groupers and even rays around this area. More wrecks were sank in Larnaca in 2019 with the latest additions to Cyprus diving. These were the Elpida and the LEF1.
