If you ask a Diver why he or she learned to dive, you would get a multitude of different answers varying from the serenity of being underwater ("the other half can not nag at me underwater") to the Adventure of Diving and the Variety of Diving available.

Divers at Green Bay Dive Site in Cyprus

Cyprus is a perfect Training ground for Scuba Diving. From shallow Dive Sites with gentle walk-in entries and gently sloping bottoms to cliff jumping entries and deeper sites for the more adventurous Diver, at Scuba-Tech Diving Centre we can accomodate all levels of Scuba Diver Training.

Equally, a short drive from the Dive Centre in Protaras to Larnaca, you can find the Zenobia Shipwreck, which is a perfect site for Technical Diver Training and PADI Diver Specialty Training such as Wreck Diver, Boat Diver and even Digital Underwater Photographer.

Our Dive Sites have up to 40metres of Visibility and the water temperatures stretch from a mild 16 degrees in the winter months to 30 degrees in the height of Summer, so you will be comfortable in the water any time of the year.

Below we have listed the top 10 reasons PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors), which is one of the most recognisable Diver Training Organisations in the World, give for learning to dive.

1.Escape

Underwater on a dive is like being in a different world. The colors and shapes are new with different creatures and textures all around you. When you are Scuba Diving, the roles you usually play in life (Mother, Husband, Friend) take on a new dimension. Scuba divers can escape to a peaceful place to re-energise and excite the senses.

2.Explore

There are literally hundreds of different Dive Sites for you to Explore from Historic Shipwrecks and Pristine Reefs to the mysteries of your local Quarry. The only way to explore these new places is by Learning to Scuba Dive.

3.Experience

When you are Diving, you experience a connection with Nature that you do not experience at any other time. As a Diver, you can Immerse yourself in new sensations, feel the freedom of weightlessness and transform your perception of life forever

4.Inexpensive

In Comparison to getting started in other popular adventure sports and outdoor activities, Learning to Scuba Dive is reasonably inexpensive. You can expect to pay about the same as you would for;

a full day of surfing lessons

a weekend of Rock Climbing Lessons

A weekend of Kayaking Lesson

about 3 hours of private golf lessons or

One amazing night out in the pub!

5.Value

Your PADI Instructor is a highly trained and experienced Diving Professional and when you learn to |Scuba Dive, you will be learning something that you can enjoy for the rest of your life

6.Dive Anywhere

Anywhere there is water is a potential Dive Site. From a swimming pool to the ocean and all the points inbetween; lakes and quaries etc. Your experience level, Dive Site accessibility, Diving Conditions and your Personal Diving Preferences will determine where you go Diving but the variety of Diver Training combined with a good imagination and the possibilities are endless

7.Dive Local

There may be a Shipwreck or manmade reservoir in your local area. Diving can be fun in any body of water, even low visibility. It isn't about How far you can see, more important is What you see on your Dives

8.Diver Training

The only important thing about where you Dive is that you have the trainng and experience appropriate for Diving there and a Dive Buddy with you

9.Dive Now

You can be Diving in less time than you think. Typically, PADI Open Water Courses take 3 to 4 days and are performance based, meaning that you can learn to Dive and progress at your own pace.

10.DIVING IS FUN!!

You will find that your social life really takes off when you start to Dive. The contacts that you make through this sport can potentially last a lifetime. The fun that you have outside of the water can equal the enjoyment you have in it.
